All human intimate relationships are complex and require hard work to be successful.  This is particularly true for gay people because of the lack of social and cultural supports for gay relationships. In this retreat, the facilitators, a gay couple with 19 years of experience striving for an intimate relationship, will offer practical strategies for improving relationships in four areas:

  • the nature of emotional intimacy/love
  • the nature of attraction versus true intimacy
  • communication essential to relationships
  • getting unstuck in intimate relationships

This retreat will be informal and there will be time for group discussion, personal reflection and sharing.  All viewpoints are valuable and will be valued in all activities.  The facilitators hope to learn as much as other participants.

You may read, journal, pray, meditate or simply sit on one of the many benches in quiet contemplation.
